ABSTRACT:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming economies and societies, reshaping how resources, opportunities, and power are distributed. This paper examines the impact of AI on social inequality, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities it presents. On one hand, AI systems can exacerbate existing inequalities through job displacement, particularly among low- and middle-skilled workers, and through algorithmic bias that may reinforce discrimination in areas such as hiring, lending, and law enforcement. Additionally, unequal access to digital infrastructure and data resources further widens the gap between advantaged and marginalized populations.
On the other hand, AI also offers significant potential to reduce inequality by improving access to essential services, including healthcare, education, and public welfare. AI-driven tools can enhance decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and support inclusive development when designed and implemented respo
