ABSTRACT
The rapid growth of digital payment systems has transformed the financial landscape by providing consumers with secure, convenient, and efficient alternatives to cash-based transactions. The present study examines the adoption of digital payment systems among urban and rural consumers in Kodagu District, Karnataka, with the objective of identifying whether a significant difference exists in adoption levels between the two groups. A descriptive and analytical research design was adopted, and data were obtained from an illustrative synthetic dataset comprising 60 respondents, including 30 urban and 30 rural consumers. Digital payment adoption was measured using indicators such as frequency of usage, preference for digital payments, usage intensity, continuance intention, recommendation intention, and dependence on digital payment systems.
